I am a born and bred Florentine, I grew up in this beautiful city. Cooking is my life, my work and it has always been my greatest passion. It’s chemistry but, above all, it’s love for the others and for our planet. I love to experiment and mix different ingredients, flavors and culinary traditions in order to create new recipes and delicious dishes to share with my friends. I think that food is not just food, but also fun, pleasure… it’s an opportunity to connect with people.
In my recipes I only use fresh ingredients and I’m lucky, because I have the chance to choose them directly from local farmers, close to home. I live in a classic Tuscan barn surrounded by olive trees, nestled in the green hills overlooking Florence at a 10 minute drive from the city center. The barn was once the studio of a famous Florentine sculptor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Antonella at her home outside of Florence. It had the feel of Tuscany we were looking for and Antonella is so fun to be around. She took us to the farmers market and the local market for fresh ingredients. Back at her house we made wonderful Italian dishes, but the best part was sharing stories with Antonella. One of our favorite days in in Italy!
My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our lesson with Antonella. She is a very talented cook, and her family was very welcoming. Not to mention her beautiful home and kitchen which added to the typical Florentine experience. I have been already telling people about Ristomama!
