This was a wonderful learning and dining experience for my husband and I plus our 2 adult sons and their wives. Paola made us feel so welcome in her beautiful apartment. Together with Paola, and under her instructions, we cooked a 3 course meal, which consisted of the freshest ingredients and was absolutely delicious. As we cooked, Paola explained why we were doing things and even taught us how to really cook pasta al dente’ properly! Paola knows a great deal about food and cooking, so we got a good education as well! It was definitely a highlight of our week long stay in Rome, and I would not hesitate to book with Ristomama again. We had no issues with booking or directions, or any other relevant information. The whole experience was a delight. Thank you Paola for teaching us and for making us feel so very welcome.
We had an excellent cooking experience with Raffaella. She is very talented and friendly, we loved her. It was a really enriching experience. It made our Rome trip very special.
Everything about this experience was amazing. The food was great. Maria and Rosaria were so welcoming to us in their home and even gave us free gifts of pasta and a small good luck charm chili to put up in our kitchen. If you want to experience the REAL side of Naples I recommend doing this fully. Cannot praise this experience enough.
This was an unbelievable experience
Monica and her husband were so welcoming and friendly
Their home is beautiful, I had kitchen envy!!
We got to cook a few dishes with her, all which were manageable for two non-cooks
We got to meet her 4 children who spoke good English too, they joined us when we got to eat all of the food we had prepared and cooked.
Such an enjoyable time, one I will never forget
100% recommend Monica and Ristomama 🙂
Me and my parents booked a cooking class with Chiara while we were still in Russia and planning our holiday. Chiara is a great host, so cozy and friendly, and lives in a wonderful house, in a historical neighborhood that is in the center of Florence but surrounded by woods… an unbelievable location! We cooked some dishes of the Florentine tradition, learning many secrets of this beautiful city and his cuisine, and then eat what we’ve cooked together with Chiara on her rooftop… it was one of the best lunches in my life!
My wife ande me had such a great time learning how to cook a traditional roman meal with Raffaella. She is a great cook and her suppli are simply amazing! We ate what we prepared on her rooftop, and she also gave us some tips to explore the city!
Thank you Raffaella, hope to see you again
My husband and I love cooking and eating – especially Italian food! I decided to get this cooking lesson as a surprise for my husband and it was the best decision of our holiday! Not only did we learn about Italian cooking in general, as well as the specific dishes that we cooked. But we also had lovely company for the evening! Fiora, her husband and children were very welcoming and generous! At the end of the evening we felt like we were visiting old friends! The food we had, spaghetti with clams, fish and ice cream were all delicious!
Thank you Fiora for the lovely food, wine and perfect evening!
This was our first time to Rome and Paola was such a great chef/instructor. It felt like we were learning how to cook at a friends house, not a stranger. We asked to keep the recipe and with out hesitation she wrote it down for us. This is now a very special meal for us both and we will always love this great memory of Rome. We definitely suggest booking it will be a memory you can take home with you.
We booked a cooking lesson from Fiora last minute, and this ended up being the highlight of our trip!! Fiora and her husband are so welcoming and kind. We made three courses from scratch including spaghetti with clams, cod with tomato sauce, and orange zest ice cream!! We also had fresh bread baking in the oven which was the perfect complement to our meal! They were also so generous in opening three bottles of wine over dinner (a different bottle per course) and what was supposed to be a 2.5 hour cooking lesson ended up being a full night of great food and conversations! Thank you Fiora and family for being such wonderful hosts and for sharing the rich history and culture of Florence city and its amazing foods. We enjoyed every part of that evening. I would give Fiora more than 5 stars if I could!!
On a recent trip to Rome, I took time out from the art and antiquities to spend a morning with Paola. And what a treat it was! She led me through the maze of streets in and around the Campo di Fiori where we shopped for bread, meat, cheese and vegetables, while she introduced me to local places of interest and gave me a brief history of the area. On our return to her lovely apartment we prepared a three course southern Italian lunch, working at a leisurely pace while chatting about food among a variety of topics. The lunch itself was delicious, and the whole experience very satisfying for me, as someone who has a keen interest in food, loves to cook, and is an English speaker learning Italian. Paola is an excellent teacher – clear, organised, interesting, relaxed and patient. This experience was chosen for me as a birthday gift by my daughter, and an excellent choice it was. Thank you daughter, e grazie mille Paola!
Rome is a beautiful city. The city’s history, architecture and feeling gives the place an unique atmosphere but it’s not always easy to scape the main tourist programs that somehow keep us, tourists, visiting the city for just a couple of days, a part from the real Italian culture. Ristomama is definitely one of those rare entrance doors that can take us near the real life experiences we are looking for when visiting places like Rome. Thanks for the amazing time!
